Welcome !
I am somewhat surprised, yet immensely honored, that there is an airport
in The West Of Scotland that bears my name. There are now two airports
in The UK (the other, of course, in Liverpool) dedicated to men of peace
(and sometimes of music.)
Although John and I travelled very different roads, our aims were the
same ; to make the world a safer place for our children and to create
harmony among those of different faiths.
Had we been swapped at birth, he would, I'm sure, have become as internationally
successful and respected a statesman as myself and I would have brought
my own deft touch to some of the greatest music of the last century.
My diplomatic skills would have kept the band together and we would have
played our music of peace and love to other great world leaders.
The thought of being received at The Whitehouse with the greeting Yo Blair
!, Yo Ko ! amuses me immensely. Truly a welcome that shows due deference
and respect for ones' equals.
I sincerely hope that those traveling through Tony Blair International
Airport take a little time to ponder on my considerable achievements and
ask themselves what they can do to carry on my noble work.
In a commercial world and with onerous family responsibilities,
it is not always possible to devote as much time as one would like to
a cause in which one truly believes.
These pressures now bear heavily on me, hence my string of directorships
and relocation further west.
However one can make amends if one is time-poor but cash-rich (I use this
phrase in relative terms of course) by making donations of aid to those
most in need.
This airport is one of many distribution hubs for such aid and, as long
as the paperwork is in order, my staff will ensure the safe passage of
sorely needed goods to their intended destinations across the world.
Just recently The Tony Blair International Airport facilitated the forward
transport of international aid from one of our country's greatest friends
to another who, in turn, managed to deliver the cargo to it's final destination
with even greater urgency.
The cargo had a great impact on the local community
and the efficacy of the aid was shown throughout the world to an audience
in awe of our collaboration.
I hope you too might consider including Tony Blair International
Airport in your plans to help make the world a better place.
It has taken longer than expected, but I believe we have now established
at Tony Blair International Airport, a framework that provides a permanent
solution for all your charitable or commercial needs.
Please do contact me or, in my absence, my PA Holly
Burton, if you think you can benefit from my expertise in International
Aid and Peace Advocacy.
